What to see in Forte dei Marmi?
Visitors come to Forte dei Marmi mainly for the beach and the sea, since there are not many tourist attractions here. We highlight the following places that are worth visiting, each of which is marked on the map.
1. Stroll around the designer shops in the city center
The main street of Forte dei Marmi is indicated on the map (red line). We highly recommend a walk along this street where you will find famous designer stores such as Cavalli, Armani, Gucci, Moncler, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Missoni and Miu Miu.
2. Weekly market in the city center
A market is often held in Piazza Marconi, the main town square. You will easily find many brand-name products for sale at very reduced prices, such as designer handbags that a year ago cost over 300 euros but now cost only 20. There are always many shoppers here given the reputation of this market for good quality.
When is the Forte dei Marmi market held? During summer the market is held up to three times a week:
- Wednesdays (all year round);
- Sundays (from Easter to October);
- Fridays (June, July, August and September).
The market is open from 8am until 1.30pm.

3. The beaches
Of course, we must not forget the beaches which, combined with the favorable weather conditions, are the main attraction of this town. You can relax on the sand of one the hundreds of beaches in Forte dei Marmi. Almost all the beaches have a restaurant where you can dine sitting directly on the sand, with a beautiful view of the sea. We recommend booking the restaurant in the morning, otherwise you will find yourself waiting a long time for a table. There are no free beaches in Forte dei Marmi. The nearest free beach is shown on the map (two and a half kilometers / 1.5 miles to the north).
